13th Annual Raymond F. Baker Plant Breeding Symposium
We are thrilled to announce that registration is now open for the 13th Raymond F. Baker Plant Breeding Symposium, scheduled for March 25, 2026, at the ISU Alumni Center, Iowa State University.
This year's theme, “Traditional and Technological Trends: Pioneering the Future of Plant Breeding,” aims to curate engaging discussions and provide critical insights into the future of our field.
Distinguished Speakers
We are honored to host a lineup of esteemed scientists who will contribute their expertise to this year's theme:
- Dr. Dean Podlich - Corteva Agriscience
- Dr. Michelle Graham – USDA/Iowa State University
- Dr. Kelly R. Robbins – Cornell University
- Dr. William Rooney – Texas A&M University
- Dr. William F. Tracy – University of Wisconsin-Madison
- Dr. Lirong Xiang – Cornell University
Hybrid Meeting Format
The 2026 symposium will feature a hybrid format, offering both in-person and virtual attendance options to accommodate a global audience.
Opportunities for Students
- Abstracts and Oral Presentations: Students are encouraged to submit abstracts for poster presentations. The three best posters will be awarded cash prizes. You can submit your abstract via the registration link below (updates accepted until the deadline).
- Student Speakers: Graduate students may apply to be a featured speaker at the symposium. Travel awards are available for selected non-ISU student speakers.
- Pre-Symposium Workshop: On March 24th, we will host a workshop titled "Building a Career in a Rapidly Changing World." Additional details to follow.
