Crop Resiliency: Breeding for a sustainable future

The Plant Breeding and Genetics Graduate Student Club proudly announces the 10th annual R. F. Baker Plant Breeding Symposium! Please come join us in person on March 24th, 2023 at the ISU Alumni Center. Opening remarks will begin at 8 am with a light breakfast beginning at 7:30 am.

The symposium will take place in person at Iowa State University's Alumni Center. Come and join us!

The symposium offers a student travel grant to attend - $500

There will also be a virtual option with streaming available over Webex. The Webex link for the symposium can be found here on the day of the symposium.

An option for local accommodations is the Gateway Hotel.

Workshop

Pre-Symposium Workshop

North Central Regional Plant Introduction Station Tour

Join us on March 23rd, the day before the symposium, at 2 pm as we go to the USDA PI station located a few miles west of the ISU campus. This PI station hosts collections of maize, millets, sunflowers, cucurbits, and more. The tour will last approximately one hour as we learn about some of the curatorial duties, long term storage, and pollinators used at this station. Please register for the tour here.
